yes that is true. And of course mikkel cant take every suggestion serious. I think he is a veteran in this things and if there is a good suggestion he will think about it. But every player got different opinions etc. for what is good for the game and he cant do it suitable for everybody. To be honest i am sure that it is just killing mikkels nerves that there are always new suggestions for his game. Thats why i stop making any suggestions forever now.
If he welcomes suggestions or e.g. things like "brainstorming" he should open a thread for it. Every other way is useless i think.

Indeed it's impossible to please everyone and there is nothing wrong with suggesting new features and tweaks dude.

Well I'm injured right now but I plan on getting back into shape real soon. Nopthing major just torn ligs in my hand but that will be ok, my back has healed so it's time for the pain soon

Enjoy your summer dude, don't do anything the good lord wouldn't do
slugger wrote:hey we tried the nice way so why dont u think about another way to help

I've helped plenty.

Redneck wrote:i understand both of you. Donny and slugger. I think its not good to tell mikkel that his new project is absolutely trash and i dont understand why mikkel is deaf to the guys who plays his games and just got good ideas to help making it more popular.
But in the end its mikkel's game and he can do what he want with it (or both of them...ob2d and ob3d). I was dumb enough to send again another idea here in the thread.
Now i see it clear. Mikkel does not want any ideas from users to create his games...he got his visions and he does not give a shit about users-visions.
So i got a message for you all:
Accept this game (ob2d) as it is. If you dont like it stop playing it. Mikkel does not want any "good ideas". He just gets angry.
I know you guys wanna help and wanna make more people play the game. But mikkel is ok with his ideas and his versions of the game. If just a handful play it with this atitude he is ok with that. I think he does not want to make it popular...he is satisfied with his archived goal (this handful people).

slugger wrote:mikkle are u serious dude pay u?? tht is ridiculous u no tht i tried ob3d and it sucked dude it blew chunks compared to ob2d.ob2d can gain more population if u pay close attention to krayons ideas just like yacobs idea of the manuel was a good one just as well as this one.

Who do you think has been paying for the server so you can play ?

Telling him his project sucks and that it's "ridiculous" for him to want something in return for all his hard work isn't going to help motivate him to do anything but ignore you is it, think about it from his perspective for a moment.

GSP is an alpha for sure, I really hope Hardy beats him though as I want to see a british champ, it's going to happen some day so why not now....Oh yeah I forgot it's GSP he is fighting
Don't you dudes get bored with this crap ?
Merry xmas to y'all, have a good new year also incase I don't poke my head in before hand.
Yeah remove the hook 'cos it is too powerfull, while you are at it remove the lean back as it allows you to fight gay also remove the walk 'cos it doesn't let me hit you

Behave it's just a tool for the job, you are more of a noob for not using it IMO. It's there so you can get yourself out of trouble and "noob" hook someones head off and if you don't like it then don't go into the range of it.
I'm sure Mac has an emulator like some Linux distros so search for a Mac version of Wine.

I've used Wine to get OB3D working on Ubuntu 8/9 so I don't see why Mac will be any different. I think the JMonkey engine uses OpenGL so that's cross platform also (I think).

Edit:

Yes I just went and looked, go here and have a dabble with it.
Mikkel wrote:It could probably be done using some of the ways that you describe. Problem is right now I would have to implement all that, and in the meantime OB would be down. But interesting suggestions.
Btw, I dont think most online games save all data on the users harddrive !?

Well I'm glad you like them dude, just thought I'd throw those ideas at you as I've thought about it a few times before now but not said anything.

It would be a lot of work I bet, you would have to basically rewrite most of the application I guess ?

I don't know about the online games saving as I don't play them, I play the odd game of GTA (SA or IV) but I'm mostly busy nowadays so not on the comp much.
Lmao dude I swear you are a closet stoner and keep it to yourself !

Btw, "Professional arsehole", you know that's where poop comes from yeah ?
Mikkel wrote:
Yes but where should the forum be then, if you broadcast to the forum ?

There are plenty of free forums which are actually pretty good (SMF for one).

Mikkel wrote:
where would you download it from ?

You could upload entire packages and not just the basic client which updates from your server, ok this would require you to upload a new version and name it each time you updated something but again a free host would be fine for this as the files won't be over say 100mb at the most (or will they?).

Mikkel wrote:
where would records be saved it ? on each server ?

On the clients computer (Documents etc), have it create and save an ecrypted file like most games do (save games). You could also use the clients computer to save thier individual fights on which they could watch in thier browser, this way they are in control of keeping old fights stored and you could even go as far as creating an option in thier client to toggle this on and off (checkbox in options or somet).

The only drawbacks I see here would be the encryption method would have to be strong as you know some idiots will try thier best to crack that so they can blag thier record and the downloading of the client as people may whine about small updates but it's a small task so they shouldn't.

This is ofcourse apart from the work you would have to put into doing this but that goes without saying doesn't it bro.
I've always thought you should make the server a dedicated one so anyone can start it from thier own server/home connection. This would take away all costs from your side and people could find servers by the owners listing them in a thread on the forum or you could have the server somehow broadcast it's address to the forum (seen this somewhere) and it could have the address, name and a little bar for online/offline status (like a gif that turns red or green).
